In most cases in California, you have up to two years
from the date of injury to file a personal injury lawsuit. If you
were injured on the job, you have up to on year to file a workers'
compensation claim. If you were injured by the negligence of a public
entity, like a school or public transit, then you have up to six
months to file a claim. If you miss these deadlines, your case will
be forever barred, even if your claim is easily proven. If you think
that you may have a case, we highly recommend that you contact an
attorney as soon as possible in order to protect your rights.
